Castle is not very big and well maintained. Tickets costs only 50 lira. Parking on premises outside the castle. It suitable for disabled to climb the walls. The views are great. Inside there is a cafe and you can sip coffee or tea.

Historic port with ancient castle and authentic buildings. Nice to visit. Very lively. Restaurants are touristic, but turkish food is good and prices are fair. It could be a little cleaner.

Worth a visit for sure. Parking may be tricky but great gothic half ruined architecture. The mountain backdrop makes for a dramatic scene.

Kyrenia is known for its picturesque harbor and iconic castle, as well as nearby medieval sites like St. Hilarion Castle and Bellapais Abbey. It’s often celebrated as the cultural heart of Northern Cyprus, famous for its scenic vistas, historic architecture, and friendly seaside ambiance.

Kyrenia is generally more affordable than many other Mediterranean destinations. You can enjoy good value on hotels, dining, and activities – a nice harbor-front meal or guided tour won’t break the bank. Overall, travelers find that Girne, North Cyprus offers an excellent holiday experience for a reasonable cost.

Yes. Kyrenia (Girne) is considered very safe for tourists. The city has a low crime rate, and you can comfortably walk around even at night in busy areas like the harbor and Girne merkez. As always, use common sense as you would anywhere, but serious trouble is rare in this laid-back town.

Yes. Kyrenia’s coastline is blessed with clear, warm waters ideal for swimming. Many beaches around Kyrenia. from hotel resort beaches to public spots like Alagadi – are perfect for a dip in the Mediterranean, especially from late spring through early autumn.
